What type of art will people buy?
My mom & I are participating in an art sale/fair of some sort, and I’m not really sure what I should be making, and what people will buy.
I use tons of different art mediums- pastels, soft and oil, paints, watercolor and oil, drawings, black & white and color. I can draw/paint landscapes and flowers pretty well, if that helps.
So pretty much, I want to know, what stuff should I be painting/drawing that people will buy?
People who are looking to buy art for their homes prefer serene scenes, landscapes, still lifes, often in oil or watercolor. Abstract art that isn’t too busy or convoluted is also nice to accent elements in the house (think color fields like Rothko).
Watercolor Treatment
“Visual Imagery” is a medical / psychological term used as a means of relaxation for patients confined to hospital or at home. It helps patients relax and distract their attention from sensations of pain to a state of relaxation while watching beautiful and colorful images of photographs and paintings. I believe a watercolor paintingis a good source for a beautiful image. Its bright colors and intense hues attracts attention of a viewer. The opening and style lights can help ease the perception. Thanks to its simplicity, the quiet of our mind and our thinking. Especially if the star of a watercolor painting, nature, flowers, still lifes, landscapes and cityscapes, it is so relaxing to the eyes. No wonder some of the hospital room has a painting of a still life or landscape to help patients recover through a quiet and peaceful environment.<
Frames could give neatness to the whole watercolor painting. So appropriate frames should be choosen well that will fit the artwork. color , style and material should be considered. There are a lot of commercial frames being sold in the market./p>
This would be more attractive if the color of the wall is white, cream or very light yellow as this would add contrast to the painting. It would also help if it has simpliewr texture.
As a nurse and as an artist, I think that watercolor is a good example of visualization and therapy should be placed on the walls of the hospital rooms and private rooms.
