Why is the art work in homes “blurred out” on the HGTV shows?
I’m a big HGTV fan, and I take in all the details! I’ve noticed that on the tours of people’s homes, frequently the art work – partifcularly paintings and prints – on the walls is deliberately blurred out and fuzzy. I’m wondering why? As I am typing this, I’m thinking it may have something to do with copyright laws, but I can’t put it into perspective. Has anyone else ever noticed this? Art work that is placed by the designer in the “After” features is clearly seen by the viewer. Thoughts?
Yes..copyright laws….to be able to show the artwork one would have to have legal papers signed by the artist…then you would get into royalties and whatnot, so it is easier and cheaper to blur them out. What is shown afterwards does not fall into this category..many items being made, or personal pictures used (permission can be given by the people).
