On an album filled with a conventional spread of crunkadelic beats and yelled out choruses so popular in the dirty south, it’s unexpected that the heart of the Ying Yang Twins new album would be the downtempo salaciousness at the center: “Wait,” “Pull My Hair,” and “Bedroom Boom.” Guaranteed to either titillate or offend (or perhaps, both), the songs find the Ying Yang Twins pioneering a whole new…

Artwork For Bedroom Questions

Artwork For Bedroom
bedroom color/ decorating help?

i’m moving into a new bedroom, it is an unusally shape but very spacious. within the next few weeks i need to paint it but the problem is i am stuck with working around a medium colored blue rug and black furniture.

i really want a theme for my room so that my bedding, walls and rug all match/coordinate and maybe a piece of artwork to tie it in?

soo any suggestions for colors or themes would be much appreciated and i will pick best answer :)

Yellow would make the black and blue pop! Go to posters.com and art.com to check out some artwork. Also go to the paint store and check out some borders. Get some color ideas or use one you like and instead of putting it near the ceiling, put it at chair rail height, 36 inches, around the middle of the room. If you do that consider painting the top half of the room one color and the bottom another. That would be cool!

Decorating A Child’S Bedroom – 10 Essential Strategies For Decorating A Child’S Bedroom

Children’s bedrooms should not only be a place for sleeping but also a room where they can do homework, listen to music, and play with friends. It’s important that the design and decor of their room reflect its flexibility so they can sleep well and  easily do games or artworks for school. Purchasing some organizing structures for the books, toys, clothes, and different games of your kids can also be largely helpful in keeping their room clutter free and organized. So use these 10 strategies to help with decorating a space that will make you both happy:

1. Talk to your child. Get some input from your child about what activities or games it is they particularly enjoy and what there favourite colours are then you can build the theme around their own unique personality. It is vital that you work any interests they have into the room design as this will make them feel comfortable, happy and safe.

2. Allow your child to help with the decorating, especially relating to colours and materials for the room as well as how they would like to display any particular items that they have. But it is important that the design should be flexible enough to be able to change with the child’s every changing tastes, needs and desires.

3. Colours and patterns

- You can choose from a variety of topics that need to be visually soothing and pleasing to the eye for your little bundle of joy.

It might bea good idea to make sure the walls of children’s rooms are washable so if you are using paint, choose a semi-gloss or gloss finish. Children love bright colors, but you should try to limit any strong color to only one wall. For example, decorate one wall with fire-engine red paint, and the others a soft peach or light blue.

4. Make the bedroom multi-functional.

Since children use their room for many other things besides sleeping, it should have several different zones. These could include a play area; a reading area; a play area with friends that’s equipped with a radio, CD player, and a TV/VCR; perhaps a display area with a wall or corkboard for favorite photos and artwork; and finally, a place for shelving to display collectibles, trophies, and other personal items.

5. Storage

Storage is important to reduce the clutter in a child’s room and you could do this by using shelving, large baskets (wicker ones), plastic see through boxes and have closets/wardrobes that have plenty of shelf and rack space inside. Try to include loads of storage into your room design.

6. Getting the light right

A child’s room should include both a functional light for homework and reading, and soothing light for less stressful times. A nightlight is also important if your child is uncomfortable in the dark, and for safety reasons, so they can easily find their way to the bathroom at night.

7. Window Treatments

- For young children, you should make sure that a bed, chair or dresser does not provide a stepping-stone to the window. Fit window locks, or safety catches, to the window, to be sure.

- Children’s blinds may look innocent enough but unrestricted cords, loops and wires can actually be hazardous to young children and cause accidents. When you choose your blinds you should double check that the cord or chain lengths are short enough so your child can’t reach them and that you can clip the cord or chain down for further protection.

keep window shades neutral, but add a fun, colorful valance. The neutral base will make it easy for you to change the room when your child’s tastes change again in a couple years.

8. Make sure all the furniture which you choose for your child’s bedroom conforms to current national safety standards, is sturdy and well put together, and has no toxic, or lead paint, finishes

9. Keep sharp objects and corners out of your child’s room. Avoid glass furniture, and keep mirrors and glass picture frames high up and out of reach, where they are unlikely to get smashed, in the course of a boisterous game.

10. Keep electrical items out of reach of young children, and fit safety covers to electrical sockets.
